This downtown DC library building, designed by Mies van der Rohe and opened in 1972, was renovated to align with the more diverse needs of its 21st century audience. Its features include a redesigned entryway and new flanking staircases, a large auditorium and conference center, and creative spaces.

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library Modernization
