Conrad B. Duberstein U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse

This six-year renovation restored the 600,000 sf exterior envelope for this 1892 Romanesque-Revival style building. H&M worked closely with the project’s specialized consultants to develop the unique and critical project specifications, notably for the terracotta façade’s restoration.

E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse

This important trial court facility was expanded to support its long-term needs by the addition of a 351,000 sf, seven-story annex. The annex included 9 new courtrooms, 15 chamber sets for judges, a central command center, high-end finishes, and a blast-resistant exterior envelop.

Montgomery County Circuit Court Annex

This judicial center was renovated to upgrade its 327,000 sf existing judicial center and expand it, with the new construction of a 191,000 sf annex. The project upgraded existing building systems and architectural finishes. The new annex provided 14 new courtrooms and underground parking.

District of Columbia Court of Appeals

Washington, DC

Beyer Blinder Belle

This restoration and expansion project (135,000 sf) renovated a National Historic Landmark building and provided a new entrance pavilion and modern support spaces below grade, including courtrooms, reception spaces and conference rooms. The entire building was upgraded to be ADA-compliant.

John W. McCormack Federal Courthouse and Post Office

Rockville, MD

The renovation of this 22-story art deco building to continue its use as a Federal Courthouse, including its historic courtrooms and library. The work also included an adaptive reuse of the building’s post office area to serve as offices for several federal agencies.

Robert S. Vance Federal Building and Courthouse

Birmingham, AL

Quinn Evans Architects

Built in 1921, this four-story marble and brick neo-classical building -- listed on the National Register for Historical Places, was renovated to mediate wear and support current needs.. The project repaired and replaced building systems, the exterior envelope, foundation, and structure.
